Searching for the Iraqi Jewish Voice: A Talk by Author and Poet Sarah Sassoon

Sarah Sassoon is a 3rd generation Iraqi, born in Australia and living in Jerusalem. She is an award winning writer, educator and poet.

Sarah will speak on the impact of the expulsion of the Jews from Iraq on her family, in particular from both female and 2nd and 3rd generation perspectives.

Her debut picture book, Shoham’s Bangle, was named a Sydney Taylor Notable and listed as one of Tablet Magazine’s Best Children’s books of 2022. The book tell her family story.
